VT’s Annual Fair Trade Business Forum
Fair Trade Burlington is thrilled to announce VT’s Annual Fair Trade Business Forum in honor of National Fair Trade Month. The forum will be located in the heart of Burlington at Contois Auditorium in City Hall, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2010. The topic of this year’s forum will be “How does Fair Trade work in a business model?” The event will open its doors to the public with displays and free munchies at 5:00 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m. the panel discussion will begin. Mark Pendergrast, local author of Uncommon Grounds will serve as moderator. Panel speakers include Evan Goldsmith of Hope for Women, Nick Reid of Equal Exchange, Mané Alves of VT Artisan Coffee & Tea, Michael Moser of The VT-Honduras Project and UVM Professor, and Jessica Workman of Speeder & Earl’s Coffee Roasters.
Panelists will share personal challenges and rewards of developing Fair Trade businesses. The audience will be given a chance to ask questions and a networking session will be offered to cultivate new or deeper relationships. The event is free and open to the public.
